The Everett Silvertips began addressing their 20-year-old situation by placing RW Brandon Campos on waivers. That got them down to five 20s -- D Dane Crowley, LW Ondrej Fiala, LW C Dan Gendur, G David Reekie and LW Brennan Sonne. . . . Reekie is sidelined with mononucleosis but was being shopped around prior to taking ill. . . . Fiala, as an import, would be a two-spotter should Everett choose to keep him. . . . Everett also has two other import forwards on its roster -- Lukas Vartovnik and Vitali Karamnov. . . .

The Kelowna Rockets have released C Jason MacDonald, 18. McDonald, who was pointless in three games this season, joined the Rockets last season in a six-player trade with the Regina Pats. On Dec. 7, the Rockets dealt LW Troy Ofukany, C Kirt Hill and RW Kaspars Saulietis to Regina for MacDonald, C Justin Bernhardt and RW Kyle St. Denis. . . . The Rockets are working to find another place for MacDonald to play.
