The Ice is 3-6-0-0 as it heads out on a three-game road swing and freshman head coach Mark Holick isn’t happy with his veterans, especially RW Andrew Bailey, 19, who ended the night on the third line "I've been trying to send a message to that young man for the past six games,” Holick told the Kootenay Advertiser’s Jeff Bromley. “It doesn't seem to be getting through. Sooner or later pride's got to kick in. We've got to get our veterans going. There are a couple of veterans in there with one goal, two goals, no goals and they are in the minus category. Soon or later they've got to start giving a damn and finding a way to get it done. Quit feeling sorry for yourselves and dig your heels in and start working." . . . Who said Brent Sutter was in the NHL? . . . The Ice opens the swing in Moose Jaw on Wednesday and also plays in Regina (Friday) and Brandon (Saturday). . . .

The Broncos play their first home game on Oct. 12 and the visitors will be the Oil Kings. . . .

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Canadians far and wide out there. Had my turkey today. Hoping I don't get another one Monday with Calgary at the Blazers, if you know what I mean.
