In Regina, C Jordan Eberle’s 17th goal of the season gave the Pats a 3-2 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings. . . . Eberle, who had gone two games without a goal, broke a 2-2 tie at 15:23 of the third period. . . . Brandon (11-7-0-1) led 2-1 on D Daryl Boyle’s shorthanded goal at 3:24 of the second period. . . .LW Troy Ofukany tied it for Regina at 11:59 of the middle period. . . . Regina RW Brett Leffler (concussion) returned after missing six games. . . . In Prince George, LW Morgan MacLean’s third goal of the season, at 1:20 of OT, gave the Cougars a 3-2 victory over the Red Deer Rebels. . . . The Cougars (9-9-0-0) led 2-0 in the second period on power-play goals from Greg Gardner and Dana Tyrell. . . . The Rebels (4-13-4-0), who have lost 10 straight, tied it with a late second-period PP goal by D Cullen Morin and a score by Landon Ferraro at 15:38 of the third period. . . . D Jesse Dudas set up Prince George’s first two goals. . . . Prince George reached the .500 mark which is quite a feat considering it started the season 1-6-0-0. . . . The Cougars are tied for fifth in the Western Conference. . . . The Rebels, who continue their swing in Kamloops on Tuesday, are 0-7-3-0 in their last 10 and are ahead of only the Saskatoon Blades in the Eastern Conference. . . .
In Prince Albert, G Dustin Butler stopped 29 shots as the Raiders blanked the Edmonton Oil Kings, 4-0. . . . D Jeff May scored his first goal of the season at 1:14 of the first period and that’s all the offence the Raiders (6-11-2-0) would need. . . . The shutout was the first of this season for Butler, 20, and the 14th of his career. . . . The Raiders, who stripped letters from three players a couple of weeks ago after some curfew violations, have a captain and three alternates again. May is wearing the ‘C’ and D Ryan White, LW Jordan Trach and RW Ryan DePape are the alternates. . . . Even though it’s relatively early, this was a big victory for Prince Albert, which is 10th in the Eastern Conference. It allowed the Raiders to get within five points of the ninth-place Oil Kings (8-7-1-2). . . . Edmonton had won four straight. . . .
In Calgary, C Vitaly Karamnov had his third and fourth goals of the season to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 4-2 victory over the Hitmen. . . . LW Kyle Beach added a goal and two assists for the Silvertips (9-7-0-0), who got 27 saves out of G Leland Irving, a draft pick of the NHL‘s Calgary Flames, who own the Hitmen (12-6-0-1). . . . Calgary, which is 4-5-0-1 in its last 10, is tied with the idle Swift Current Broncos (11-5-0-3) for third in the Eastern Conference. . . . The Silvertips are tied for fifth in the west with Prince George and the idle Kelowna Rockets (8-7-1-1) . . .
In Chilliwack, the Vancouver Giants got two goals from RW Michal Repik as they dumped the Bruins, 3-1. . . . Repik has 11 goals this season. . . . The Giants (13-4-1-2) also got two assists from each of D Jonathon Blum and C Mario Bliznak. . . . RW Oscar Moller scored his league-leading 18th goal (in 18 games) for the Bruins (10-6-2-0). . . . Vancouver remained tied with the Spokane Chiefs atop the Western Conference. The Chiefs hold two games in hand. . . . The Bruins are fourth. . . . In Cranbrook, G Tomas Heemskerk made 21 saves for his first shutout as the Kootenay Ice blanked the Portland Winter Hawks, 5-0. . . . Heemskerk, from Chilliwack, was playing in his eighth game. . . . It was the fourth time this season that Portland (3-15-0-0), the WHL’s poorest offensive club, has been shut out. . . . The Ice (9-10-2-0) got two goals and two assists from each of RW Andrew Bailey, who has six goals, and red-hot C Steve Da Silva, who now has 11 goals. . . . In Medicine Hat, the Saskatoon Blades jumped out to a 4-2 lead and hung on to beat the Tigers, 4-3. . . . Spokane C Chris Bruton scored twice but it was LW Drayson Bowman’s 11th goal, on the power play at 11:33 of the third period, that proved to be the winner. . . . The goal came just 1:14 after C Jeremy Boyer had tied it for Seattle (7-5-2-1). . . . Bowman also had three assists. Spokane C Mitch Wahl added a goal and three helpers. . . . The line of Bruton, Bowman and Wahl totaled 10 points. . . . The Chiefs (13-2-1-2) held a 40-16 edge in shots, including 16-2 in the second period, as they won for the ninth time in 10 games. . . . The Chiefs are tied for first in the west. The Thunderbirds are eighth.
