Friday's stuff . . .

The Detroit Red Wings have signed D Logan Pyett, the captain of the Regina Pats. Greg Harder of the Regina Leader-Post has reported that Pyett signed a three-year deal that includes that maximum allowable signing bonus (($85,000 per year, $255,000 total). Pyett was the 212th pick in the NHL’s 2006 draft and grew into one of the WHL’s top defencemen. . . .
