Veteran F Mark Recchi, who owns a piece of the WHL's Kamloops Blazers, has signed to play another NHL season. Recchi signed Monday with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He will earn US$1.25 million on the one-year deal that also includes bonus clauses. Recchi, 40, began last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, was waived and finished up with the Atlanta Thrashers. He totaled 48 points. Recchi, who has been on two Stanley Cup-winners, played for the Blazers and the street in front of the Interior Savings Centre, the team's home, is named after him. Before signing with the Lightning, he also talked with the Philadelphia Flyers. . . . The other NHLers who own a piece of the Blazers are Shane Doan, Jarome Iginla and Darryl Sydor.

F Kevin Saurette (Regina) signed with Kaufbeuren (Germany Oberliga). He was mostly with Reading (ECHL) last season but got into three games with Binghamton (AHL). . . . D Clayton Barthel (Seattle/Kelowna) signed with Landsberg (Germany Oberliga). Barthel played only four games last season with Charlotte (ECHL) due to injuries. . . . F Tyler Dittmer (Brandon) signed with Fussen (Germany Oberliga). Dittmer played with the Wheat Kings for the last three seasons.
