The United States’ under-17 team’s roster includes four forwards whose major junior rights belong to WHL teams. . . . Emerson Etem, from Long Beach, Calif., played at Shattuck-St. Mary’s last season. The Medicine Hat Tigers selected him with the 115th pick of the 2007 bantam draft. In terms of college hockey, he has yet to commit. . . . Luke Moffat is from Paradise Valley, Ariz., and played minor midget in the Compuware program in Michigan last season. The Kelowna Rockets selected him second overall in the 2007 draft. He has committed to Michigan. . . . Nick Shore’s WHL rights also belong to Kelowna, which took him 135th overall in 2007. Shore is from Denver and played for the Colorado Thunderbirds. He hasn’t made a college commitment. His brother, Drew, is on the U.S. under-18 team; this is the first time brothers have played at the USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program at the same time. . . . Jason Zucker, from Las Vegas, is the first native of Nevada to play at the NTDP in its 12-year history. The Seattle Thunderbirds used the 84th selection in the 2007 draft to take him. Zucker, who has committed to Denver, was a teammate of Moffat’s with Compuware last season. . . . One other familiar name on the U-17 roster belongs to D Jarred Tinordi of Millersville, Md. His father, Mark, played 12 seasons in the WHL after playing with the WHL’s Lethbridge Broncos for four seasons (1982-86). Jarred’s major junior rights belong to the OHL’s London Knights.
