The MacBETH REPORT: F Paul Vincent (Seattle/Swift Current) signed with Rosenborg (Norway Division 1). He had 10 goals and 16 assists in 18 games with Amsterdam and Den Haag (Netherlands) last season. . . . F Jordan Krestanovich (Calgary) and F Kiel McLeod (Kelowna) signed with Cortina (Italy Serie A). Krestanovich was with Victoria (ECHL) and McLeod split time between Albany (AHL) and Victoria (ECHL) last season. . . . D Jarad Bourassa (Swift Current/Moose Jaw) signed with Gherdeina (Italy Serie B). He had 12 goals and 24 assists in 39 games with Fassa (Italy Serie A) last season. . . . F Tyler Willis (Swift Current/Seattle) signed with Newcastle (UK Elite Hockey League). He was with Kalamazoo (IHL) last season. . . . F Tyler Shybunka (Swift Current/Saskatoon) re-signed with Visby/Roma (Sweden Division 1). He had 25 goals and 47 assists in 33 games for Visby/Roma last season.

THE COACHING GAME: The Vancouver Giants have added Chad Scharff to their coaching staff as an assistant under head coach Don Hay. Scharff, 22, played parts of five seasons (2002-07) with the Giants and also has scouted for them in central Alberta. The Giants were in the market for an assistant coach because Craig Bonner, who actually was assistant GM and assistant coach, signed on as GM of the Kamloops Blazers.

Labour Day weekend – Labor Day, in the U.S., of course – isn’t that far away, which means it’s almost tournament time. The Everett Silvertips have released details of their fifth annual tournament and it’s worth noting that ticket prices increase from $60 to $75 per package after Friday, Aug. 8. . . . The tournament features the Silvertips, Chilliwack Bruins, Portland Winter Hawks, Seattle Thunderbirds, Spokane Chiefs and Tri-City Americans. Games will be played Aug. 29, 30 and 31. . . . The following weekend the scene shifts to Kennewick, Wash., for the Tri-City Americans’ 2008 Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament. This one runs from Sept. 4-7 at the Toyota Center and features the five U.S. Division teams. . . . More info on this tournament is available here.
