Chiefs win

The Memorial Cup-champion Spokane Chiefs evened their exhibition season record at 2-2 with a 3-1 victory over the Everett Silvertips to open the Tri-City Americans’ annual tournament on Thursday night. It was the night's lone WHL game. Tyler Johnson, Justin McCrae and Seth Compton scored for the Chiefs, who counted the game’s first three goals. Shane Harper had a late second-period goal for the Silvertips, who were beaten 4-2 by Spokane in a game last weekend in Everett. The Silvertips are 1-3 in the exhibition season.
