This is Sloan's day

Tyler Sloan, a former Kamloops Blazers defenceman, will make his NHL debut tonight (Tuesday) for the Washington Capitals against the Flames in his hometown of Calgary. In the eight-plus seasons I have spent covering the Blazers, he was one of the most mature players I came across. He was comfortable with the media and always provided thoughtful answers. And there also was much more to his story than that of a young man chasing a dream.
