THE SCORE
Kamloops 6, Prince George 1

WHAT HAPPENED
Kamloops G Justin Leclerc gave his guys a chance to win with a tremendous
second period and the Blazers’ power play did the rest.

THE STANDINGS
The Blazers (10-9-0-2) remain fifth in the Western Conference, three points
ahead of the Everett Silvertips, who beat the Pats 4-1 in Regina last night.
The Cougars (8-10-0-1) are seventh.

THE GOALTENDER
Kamloops G Justin Leclerc made his seventh consecutive start and stopped 44
shots. He is 6-1 in those seven starts.

THE FIGHT
Kamloops D Giffen Nyren and Moose Jaw C Justin Maylan fought to a draw late
in the third period. The two used to be teammates with the Moose Jaw
Warriors.

THE SNIPER
Kamloops LW Shayne Wiebe scored his team-leading 13th and 14th goals of the
season and also had two assists. He has 14 points, including seven goals,
over his last six games.

THE STREAKS
Kamloops D Giffen Nyren had two assists and is riding an eight-game point
streak. He has 10 points over that stretch. . . . Kamloops RW Tyler Shattock
is on a six-game streak, with 11 points in those games. He had a goal and
two assists in this one. . . . Kamloops C Jake Trask has one goal each of
his last five games.

THE AWARD
LW Dana Tyrell of the Cougars is the Boston Pizza CHL player of the week. He
had seven points, including three goals, as the Cougars went 1-0-0-1 last
week. Tyrell, the team captain, had a goal and three assists in the Cougars’
7-2 victory over the visiting Blazers on Saturday. He is in his fourth
season with the Cougars.

THE ATTENDANCE
The paid attendance never was announced during the Blazers' 6-3 victory over
the visiting Chilliwack Bruins on Tuesday night. It turns out it was 3,834.
