The Everett Silvertips have dealt LW Kyle Beach, 18, and D Mike Alexander, 19, to the Lethbridge Hurricanes for D Alex Theriau, 16, LW Daniel Iwanski, 18, and a 2009 first-round bantam draft pick. . . . Theriau was the sixth overall pick in the 2007 bantam draft. Theriau, from Duncan, B.C., has four assists in 29 games with Lethbridge and played for Team Pacific at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge. . . . Iwanski, from Calgary, has five points in 25 games with Lethbridge after earning 19 points in his rookie season. . . . Beach, from Kelowna, was selected 11th overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL’s 2008 draft. The played in 159 games with Everett, totaling 154 points, including 67 goals. He is first in franchise history in penalty minutes (528). This season, he has 30 points, 21 of them assists, in 30 games. . . . Alexander, from Campbell River, B.C., played 135 games with Everett. This season, in 37 games, he has 12 points and 45 penalty minutes.
“Obviously it’s tough to trade a player of Kyle Beach’s status,” Everett GM Doug Soetaert said in a press release. “But Lethbridge feels that acquiring players of his and Mike Alexander’s calibre puts them over the top for another run at a WHL title.”
