An observation from a regular reader here who is a fan of a WHL team other than the Edmonton Oil Kings or Prince Albert Raiders:
“Just thought I would send a quick observation - obviously I had no rooting interest in the Prince Albert and Edmonton game (Tuesday night), but . . .
“Did anyone else besides me find it interesting that the WHL broke a ‘regular-season’ tie in the standings by playing a game under ‘playoff’ rules?
“After all, the winning goal was scored eight minutes into OT – that, of course, would never happen in the regular season - the game would have gone to the circus.
“Let's see ... for all regular-season games it’s five minutes OT and then a shootout, but to break a regular-season tie, they go by a different set of rules.
“Just something that made me go hmmmmm . . .”
