JUST NOTES: The Red Deer Rebels have added F Daulton Siwak to their roster for the remainder of the season. Siwak was the 24th overall pick in the 2008 bantam draft. He had 35 points in 33 games with the midget AAA Red Deer Optimist Rebels this season. . . . F Mitch Fadden of the Tri-City Americans is the Boston Pizza WHL player of the week. He had seven points, six of them goals, as the Americans went 4-0-0-0. . . . Uhh, with all due respect to Mitch Fadden, who had a fine week and is having a terrific season, one has to wonder if the player of the week picker missed the Tyler Ennis show on Friday night. All he did was score six goals in one game. Now I realize that it’s a player-of-the-week award, as opposed to player of the night, but still . . . when was the last time a player scored six goals in a game?
Mark Guggenberger of the Kelowna Rockets is the WHL’s nominee as the ADT CHL goaltender of the week. He was 2-0-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .962 save percentage. . . . Lost somewhat in the aftermath of the scraps in Spokane on Saturday night was LW Drayson Bowman scoring his 40th goal of the season for the Chiefs. He is the first Spokane player to enjoy back-to-back 50-goal seasons since F Maxim Bets and F Valeri Bure both did it (1992-94). . . . Bowman is the 12th Spokane player in franchise history to score 40 goals in a season.
The Wenatchee, Wash., Wild of the North American league drewe 4,277 fans for a playoff game on Saturday night. The Wild beat the West Division-leading Fairbanks Ice Dogs 5-2 to win a first-round playoff series. The expansion Wild leads the NAHL in total attendance (63,700) and average (2,548) through 25 home games. . . . The QMJHL’s Acadie-Bathurst Titan have received a seven-day extension before having to submit a relocation request. Leo-Guy Morrissette, the Titan owner, is negotiating with the owners of the Mile One Arena in St. John’s, Nfld., and with city officials in Bathurst.

The QMJHL opened the History and Records section of its website (www.lhjmq.qc.ca) on Monday.
“Hockey fans will now have the opportunity to consult 40 years worth of statistics and records going all the way back to the league's birth in 1969,” QMJHL commissioner Gilles Courteau said in a release. “This extraordinary undertaking was made possible by the relentless efforts of a group of more than 20 individuals led by our chief statistician, Denis Demers. The result is truly remarkable. I would like to congratulate and thank Denis Demers and his staff for a job extremely well done."
Here are a few project notes, from the league’s press release:
* The History and Records section started being built in the fall of 2005.
* A team of 24 impassioned individuals took part in the project.
* More than 12,000 hours were necessary to complete it.
* Approximately 10,000 scoresheets were manipulated and photographed to enable the web scorers to enter the data.
“I am very proud of the end result,” Demers said in a statement. “Every single piece of data since 1969 has been itemized. It is a great tool for passionate hockey fans and for the media who cover the League. Several tens of thousands of records and player pages, which include career statistical breakdowns, are just a click away. Fans can even consult game-by-game statistics of QMJHL greats such as Guy Lafleur, Raymond Bourque, Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, Roberto Luongo and Sidney Corsby to name just a few. I do not know of any other sports website that has as much available data for its fans to enjoy.”
