The other series, between the Medicine Hat Tigers and Brandon Wheat Kings, resumes Wednesday in Brandon. The Wheaties lead that series, 2-0.

JUST NOTES: The Kamloops Blazers and NL Broadcasting Limited announced Monday that they have agreed to a contract on broadcast rights through 2011-12. Radio NL just completed its 25th season as the radio voice of the Blazers, the last 10 with Kirk Fraser calling the play. . . . The Blazers, by the way, will open training camp on Aug. 20. . . . D Jon Blum of the Vancouver Giants is the Boston Pizza WHL player of the week. He had two goals and an assist as the Giants opened the second round with two victories over the visiting Spokane Chiefs. . . . Martin Jones of the Calgary Hitmen is the WHL nominee as the ADT CHL goaltender of the week. He was 2-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .950 save percentage. . . . The Calgary Flames have returned D John Negrin to the AHL’s Quad City Flames. Negrin split this WHL season between the Kootenay Ice and Swift Current Broncos.

1995-96: Portland vs. Spokane (first round) – Portland wins first three games. Spokane wins next four, including Game 7 at home.
NOTE: In a 1989-90 Eastern Conference semifinal, Lethbridge led 3-0 over Saskatoon. The Blades tied the series 3-3 before Lethbridge won Game 7, 4-3, in overtime on Neil Hawryluk’s goal at 2:31.

2004-05: Brandon vs. Calgary (Eastern Conference semifinal): Calgary was up 3-1 and Brandon won the next three, winning Game 7 at home.
2003-04: Everett vs. Kelowna (Western Conference final): Kelowna was up 3-1. Everett, an expansion team, won the next three, including Game 7 on the road. The last three games all went to OT.
2002-03: Spokane vs. Portland (first round): Portland was up 3-1 and Spokane won the next three, including Game 7 at home.
2001-02: Red Deer vs. Brandon (Eastern Conference final): Brandon was up 3-1. Red Deer won the next three, including Game 7 at home.
1997-98: Calgary vs. Swift Current (Eastern Conference semifinal): Swift Current was up 3-1 and Calgary won the next three. Calgary (84 points) beats Swift Current (97 points) at home in Game 7. Calgary was division champion, and thus had home-ice advantage.

1985-86: Portland vs. Spokane (first round): Portland led 3-1 before Spokane won three straight to go up 4-3. Portland won the last two, including Game 9 at home.
1983-84: Portland vs. New Westminster (first round): Portland (66 points) took 3-1 lead over New Westminster (70 points) before the Bruins took a 4-3 lead, winning Game 7, 8-7, in overtime at home on a Mark McLeary goal. Portland won Game 8 at home, 7-6 on Terry Perkins’ OT goal, and Game 9, 4-3 on the road, on Ray Podloski’s goal at 15:27 of OT.
1980-81: Victoria vs. Calgary (WHL final): Calgary was up 3-1. Victoria won next three, including Game 7 at home. Victoria had 28-game winning streak halted when Calgary won opener 3-2 in Victoria.
