THE MacBETH REPORT: F Kirby Law (Saskatoon/Lethbridge) has signed a one-year plus option contract with Ambrì-Piotta (Swiss NL A). He had one goal and two assists in 10 games with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk (KHL) and four goals and 21 assists in 28 games with Fribourg-Gottéron (Swiss NL A) this season.

JUST NOTES: The Prince George Cougars have signed F Troy Bourke, the 26th overall pick in the 2009 bantam draft. Bourke, from Onoway, Alta., won the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League’s scoring title with 83 points in 33 games for the Spruce Grove Timberwolves. He was named the league’s MVP. . . . C Carter Smith, a veteran of 237 WHL games, has committed to attend the U of Regina and play for the Cougars. Smith played for the Red Deer Rebels, Everett Silvertips and Moose Jaw Warriors. A native of Eyebrow, Sask., he played out his WHL eligibility with the Rebels this season.
