McLean search suspended for night

The latest release from the Dease Lake, B.C., RCMP detachment, issued at 10:02 p.m. PT:

The search for Ernie McLEAN (77 years old) is now suspended for the evening due to darkness. The search will continue in the morning with the addition of six RCMP officers from the Yukon.

Although the search ended today without any sign of Mr. McLEAN, there were no added complications.

Mr. McLEAN was last seen on Sunday, August 16 in a remote mountainous area near Turnagain Lake, approximately 80 kms east of Dease Lake. He was on foot, had no firearm and no food. He was expected back later that day.

Both the McLEAN Family and the RCMP understand the need to keep the public informed and will continue to do so as the search continues.
