Sunday . . .

Mike Mastovich of the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat reports that former WHLer Ian Herbers will be joining the coaching staff of the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals as an assistant today. Herbers, a big, hard-nosed defenceman who played in Kelowna, Lethbridge, Spokane and Swift Current, will work alongside Milwaukee head coach Lane Lambert, a former WHL player and coach. Herbers, who had been head coach of the ECHL’s Johnstown Chiefs, replaces Brad Lauer, who has moved up to the NHL where he is an assistant coach with the Ottawa Senators. . . .
