G Jamie Tucker (Vancouver) stopped 24 shots for Columbus. . . . F Evander Kane (Vancouver) had a shorthanded empty-net goal and an assist as his Atlanta Thrashers dumped the Carolina Hurricanes, 7-3. . . . F Luke Walker (Portland) had two goals as the New York Rangers got past the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3. You can bet that was a thrill for Walker, whose father, Gord, played 19 games and scored two goals for the Rangers (1986-88). F Brent Raedeke (Edmonton) had one of Detroit’s goals.
