Saturday . . .

It sure sounds as though Red Deer Rebels fans have seen the last of F Landon Ferraro, at least on their team. It sounds as though he and Rebels head coach Jesse Wallin aren’t on the same page and that it’s time for a change of scenario. George Sipple of the Detroit Free Press has more right here.

It seems that five-year contracts are the way to go these days. The latest went to former NHL star Doug Gilmour, who is the head coach of the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs. Mike Koreen of the Kingston Whig-Standard has the story right here.
---
F Aaron Gagnon (Seattle, 2001-07) has re-signed with the NHL’s Dallas Stars. He signed a one-year, two-way deal, worth US$600,000 in the NHL and $85,000 in the minors. He had 58 points with the AHL’s Texas Stars last season and added eight goals in the playoffs as the Stars got to the final, where they lost to the Hershey Bears. He was pointless in two games with Dallas.
