F Scotty Balan (Regina, Saskatoon, 1997-2002) signed a one-year contract with the Tilburg Trappers (Netherlands Eredivisie). He had three goals and 10 assists in 46 games for Manglerud Star (Norway Get Ligaen) last season.

According to hockey-news-central.blogspot.com: “The ECHL has added referees Colin Kronforst (Chicago) and Curtis Marouelli (Edmonton), plus linesmen Alex Stagnone (Holbrook, Mass.) and Mike Sheehan (Denver) to its officiating staff for the upcoming season.”
Marouelli worked some games in the WHL last season.
