Key Injuries: KAMLOOPS — D Josh Caron (collarbone, out); RW Jordan DePape (shoulder, out); RW Chase Souto (concussion, out). PRINCE ALBERT — D Jordan Rowley (broken wrist, out); C Shane Danyluk (ankle, out).
Overview: The Blazers dropped a 4-3 shootout loss to the visiting Spokane Chiefs on Wednesday night while the Raiders were making their way west. This is the opener of a six-game swing that covers each B.C. Division team and ends in Red Deer on Oct. 16. . . . The Raiders last played Tuesday when they dropped the visiting Tri-City Americans, 5-2. . . . Prince Albert has won three in a row since opening the season with three losses. . . . The Blazers opened the season with a victory but have since gone 0-3-0-1. . . . Both teams are struggling on special team. The Blazers have scored only two PP goals in 30 opportunities (6.7 per cent); their penalty killers have surrendered nine goals in 36 chances (75.0). . . . The Raiders are 4-for-30 (13.3) on the PP and 25-for-34 (73.5) on the kill. . . . Prince Albert’s roster includes two players from this area. RW Brock Balson of Kamloops is pointless in four games, while C Shane Danyluk of Salmon Arm has yet to play because of a high ankle sprain suffered in training camp. . . . LW Brendan Ranford and C Chase Schaber, linemates with the Blazers, have six points apiece. . . . RW Brandon Herrod leads the Raiders with 10 points, including five goals, while C Mark NcNeill, the fifth pick in the 2008 bantam draft, has nine points, four of them goals. . . . Prince Albert D Jordan Rowley, who played 144 games with Kamloops before being traded in 2008-09, broke his right wrist in Game 1. . . . Look for the Raiders to start Jamie Tucker (2-2, 2.98, .904) in goal. He was acquired from the Vancouver Giants last season. . . . Kamloops G Jon Groenheyde (1-2-0-1, 3.19, .895) has started four of five but it’ll be Jeff Bosch getting the call. . . . Kamloops D Linden Saip and D Brandon Underwood are eligible to return from WHL suspensions.
