Kris Anderson of the Portland Tribune writes that there is no news on the status of Winterhawks F Ty Rattie, who didn’t play in Game 2 of the WHL final. G Nathan Lieuwen, who completed his junior eligibility this season with the Kootenay Ice, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres. Lieuwen, who backstopped the Ice to the WHL title a year ago, went 27-20-8, 2.50, .914 this season. . . . Lieuwen was a sixth-round selection by the Sabres in the 2011 NHL draft.
