D Roman Teslyuk (Kamloops. Tri-City, 2003-07) signed a one-year contract with Sokol Krasnoyarsk (Russia, Vysshaya Liga). He had six goals and nine assists in 30 games with Arlan Kokshetau (Kazakhstan, Premier) and two assists in 13 games with Buran Voronezh (Russia, Vysshaya Liga) last season. . . .
F Matt Ellison (Red Deer, 2002-03) signed a one-year contract with Biel (Switzerland, NL A). He had three goals and 14 assists in 33 games with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (Russia, KHL) last season.

The Kamloops Blazers have signed F Quinn Benjafield, their first-round selection in the 2013 bantam draft. He had 132 points, including 63 goals, in 70 games with the North Shore Winter Club last season. He most likely will spend the upcoming season with the major midget Vancouver-Northwest Giants.

The Kootenay Ice has signed Jay Henderson to a two-year deal as its new assistant coach. Henderson replaces Chad Kletzel, who left in may and intends to return to teaching in Lethbridge. . . . Henderson, 34, is a former WHLer (Red Deer, Edmonton Ice, 1994-98), who went on to a lengthy pro career that included 33 NHL games with the Boston Bruins. He retired as a player in 2010 after playing in Europe. For the last two seasons, he has been an assistant coach with the NAIT Oooks in Edmonton.
