Some good reads . . .

F Tyler Metcalfe (Seattle, 1999-2005) signed a one-year contract with Miskolci Jegesmedve (Hungary, MOL Liga). He had 11 goals and 14 assists in 51 games with Alba Volan Szekesfehervar (Hungary, Austria Erste Bank Liga) last season.
And now for something completely different. . . .
This story right here, written by Lane DeGregory, appeared in the Tampa Bay Times on Wednesday.
It involves Miss Teen America, a divorce, and a camp for troubled girls. And it’s good.
And while we’re at it, here’s another one. . . .
This one right here is the story of an ESPN producer and the two amateur wrestlers, one of them without legs and the other legally blind, who “grubbed their way into my heart four years ago.”
And right here is another of the best things I read last week. Written by Eli Saslow of the Washington Post, it is headlined: In rural Tennessee, a new way to help hungry children: A bus turned bread truck. . . . This is devastating stuff.
If you have been around the WHL for any length of time, you’ve come into contact with Gerry Johannson, a former player and coach who now is a player agent. Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette takes a look at Johannson right here.
Remember Milton Bradley, the former Major League baseball player? . . . If you do, you will remember his explosive temper. Well, he’s in a pile of trouble these days and very well may be headed for the big house. . . . Jerry Brewer of the Seattle Times has more right here.

From Peter King (@SI_PeterKing): “British Columbia is such a great place for a vacation. Had no idea we'd love it so much. And Driftwood Brewery — you guys rock. Big time.”
