Cougars sale completed, papers signed

The Prince George Cougars have been sold.
A source familiar with the situation told me this morning that Rick Brodsky, who had owned the WHL franchise since purchasing the Victoria Cougars in 1992, and a local group finalized the sale agreement on Wednesday night.
According to the source, an agreement was signed and “the league can now begin its due diligence.”
The Prince George group is headed up by local businessman Greg Pocock and includes NHL defencemen Eric Brewer of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dan Hamhuis of the Vancouver Canucks, both of whom played for the Cougars.
The Cougars have been in Prince George since 1994.
