Tuesday notes . . .

The Kootenay Ice has dealt LW Clayton Bauer, 20, to the Red Deer Rebels for LW Matt Fraser, 17, and a 2008 fifth-round bantam draft pick. The move allows the Ice to reach the 20-year-old limit of three as it keeps C Steve Da Silva, D Chad Greenan and D Paul Kruceba. . . . Fraser, who is from Red Deer, was a ninth-round pick in the 2006 bantam draft. He was pointelss in five games with the Rebels this season. . . . Bauer joins RW J.D. Watt as the 20-year-olds on Red Deer’s roster. . . .

The Brandon Wheat Kings have acquired Slovakian RW Robert Brandis, 19, from the Saskatoon Blades for something that has yet to be announced. (League rules do not permit WHL teams to make trades for future considerations.) Brandis joins Czech C Daniel Bartek as Brandon’s import players. The Blades’ acquisition of LW Ondrej Fiala, 20, from the Everett Silvertips left them one over the import limit of two. . . . Brandis had nine penalty minutes in four games with the Blades. . . .

With the 20-year-old deadline arriving Thursday, the Vancouver Giants cleared some room by releasing LW Mike Wuchterl, whom they had acquired at last season’s trade deadline from the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Wuchterl, an Edmonton native, has 40 points and 383 penalty minutes in 220 regular-season WHL games. . . . The Giants now have C Mario Bliznak and LW Garet Hunt as their 20-year-olds, so are poised to add one.
