Some Tuesday stuff . . .

The Seattle Thunderbirds have dealt F Steve Oursov, 17, to the Red Deer Rebels for F Mike Krgovich, 18, and 2010 fifth-round bantam draft pick. Krgovich, who is from Coquitlam, B.C., had seven points and 54 penalty minutes in 63 games with the Rebels last season. . . . Oursov, selected 53rd overall by Seattle in the 2006 bantam draft, is from Chilliwack, B.C. He spent last season with the BCHL’s Trail Smokeaters, totaling 18 points in 49 games. . . .

The Brandon Sun reports that Les Borsheim, who played for the Brandon Wheat Kings from 1996-2000, is “in critical condition in a Colorado hospital following surgery after suffering a neck injury in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon.” Borsheim, who played with the Central league’s Colorado Eagles, was in intesive care as of Tuesday night. . . . According to the Eagles, the Sun reported, “Borsheim underwent successful neck surgery and was in good spirits.” According to the Sun, the 29-year-old Borsheim “crashed and was thrown from his Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he failed to make a right-hand curve on a rural road Sunday, according to Colorado State Patrol.” . . . The Denver Post reported that Borsheim wasn’t wearing a helmet and was cited for driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and careless driving.

John Shorthouse is the new TV voice of the Vancouver Canucks on Rogers Sportsnet. Shorthouse, who has been the radio voice of the Canucks since 1998, takes over from Jim Hughson, who has signed a six-year contract with Hockey Night in Canada. Shorthouse joins analyst John Garrett and host Dan Murphy on Sportsnet’s Canucks team.

The Minnesota Wild chose not to sign LW Ondrej Fiala, who played in the WHL with the Everett Silvertips and Saskatoon Blades. The Wild selected Fiala with the 40th pick of the NHL’s 2006 draft. Fiala has had some knee problems and the Wild took that into consideration when deciding not to sign him Sunday’s signing deadline. Fiala, who led the Blades with 53 points last season, now is a free agent. He is expected to play in Czech Republic.
