LW Dana Tyrell, the captain of the Prince George Cougars, has signed a three-year entry-level deal with the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning. They selected him 47th overall in the 2007 NHL draft. . . . The Cougars also are bringing back F Marcus Watson, 19, at least for this weekend where they play three games in as many nights - in Portland, Everett and Vancouver. . . .

Guy Rouleau, one of the most prolific scorers in major junior hockey history, has died of brain cancer. Rouleau was 43. . . . He piled up 543 points in 260 games in four seasons with the Longueuil Chevaliers (1982-85) and the Hull Olympiques (1985-86). In his last season, he won the QMJHL scoring title, with 191 points, including 91 goals, in 61 games, and was the league’s MVP. The Olympiques later retired his jersey (No. 77).
