The Kamloops Blazers Sports Society and River City Hockey Inc. argued their cases in the Supreme Court of B.C., in Vancouver, on Friday morning. The court reserved its decision until Aug. 8 at 9 a.m.
Former WHLer/NHLer Kelly Buchberger is the new head coach of the AHL's Springfield Falcons, an affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers. Buchberger, the Oilers' development coach last season, replaces Geoff Ward, who left to become an assistant coach under Claude Julien with the Boston Bruins. Buchberger was an assistant under Ward with the 2004-05 Edmonton Roadrunners. Former Kelowna Rockets head coach Jeff Truitt is Buchberger's assistant coach. . . . Bob Mancini, the former GM/head coach of the OHL's Saginaw Spirit, is the Oilers' new development coach.
