Originally scheduled to begin at 5 p.m, it now will start at 7 p.m. This will allow fans to watch the CFL playoff game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and B.C. Lions before heading to the hockey game. . . .

According to fellow blogger Andy Kemper, the radio voice of the Portland Winter Hawks, G Mark Guggenberger “has been suspended indefinitely by the team and is no longer on the active roster.” . . .

With the Winter Hawks at 3-17-0-0, the Portland Tribune points out that the franchise worst all-time record was 17-53-2 (1990-91). The Tribune also points out that the WHL’s worst all-time records are all by defunct (or relocated) teams with the 1989-90 Victoria Cougars holding the dubious distinction of having finished 5-65-2
