Nick Patterson of the Everett Herald is reporting on his blog that Silvertips F Kyle Beach is concussed and won't play until late next week, at the earliest. That means he won't play tonight against the visiting Portland Winter Hawks or Saturday in the rematch with the Spokane Chiefs in Everett.
According to Patterson: "Beach did not pass the baseline test, which determines whether someone is concussed. He'll have the baseline test administered again early next week, and if he passes then, the concussion protocol calls for sitting out another five days, so he'll be out at least an additional week. It is the second concussion Beach has suffered in roughly a month."
This also means that Beach won't play in Wednesday's Top Prospects Game in Edmonton.
It also means that Spokane C Chris Bruton, who lowered the boom on Beach during a post-game skirmish, may end up sitting more than two games. Still, considering Beach's role in the altercation (if he doesn't grab Spokane's Mitch Wahl at the side of the net, the game ends and everyone goes home; Beach also took some kind of a poke/swat at Bruton before getting dropped), two games for Bruton strikes me as being more than enough.
