WHL's coffers enriched

Ch-ch-ching! The WHL’s coffers grew richer by $1,250 Saturday as the league’s Calgary office whacked two teams and a head coach. The Saskatoon Blades and Brandon Wheat Kings paid for a Friday night line dance, er, brawl in the Wheat City. The WHL obviously didn’t appreciate the Friday night hoedown. The Blades were dinged $500 because if was their second such incident; Brandon, relative neophytes, paid $250. . . . Bill Peters, the head coach of the Spokane Chiefs, got drilled for $500. His sin? Well, he spoke his mind and said, really, what everyone other than the Everett Silvertips and their fan(atics) were thinking. . . . Spokane C Chris Bruton ended up with a two-game suspension for the punch heard ‘round the Internet, the one that put down Everett F Kyle Beach on Wednesday night. That means Bruton won’t play in tonight’s rematch in Everett. Neither will Beach, who came out of it with a concussion. . . .
