As expected, Hockey Canada has named Pat Quinn head coach of the national junior team that will play in the World Junior Championship in Ottawa beginning on Dec. 26. Quinn replaces Benoit Groulx, who left the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques a couple of weeks ago to sign on as head coach of the AHL’s Rochester Americans. Quinn’s assistant coaches are Willie Desjardins (Medicine Hat Tigers) and Dave Cameron (Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors), along with Guy Boucher (Drummondville Voltigeurs), who was added to the staff Thursday when the Quinn announcement was made.
