The 20-year-old game

WHL teams had to get down a maximum of three 20-year-olds on Thursday. Here's the way things unfolded:
The Lethbridge Hurricanes got down to three by trading F Adam Chorneyko to the Saskatoon Blades for a 2009 fifth-round draft pick. Chorneyko, who began his career with the Kamloops Blazers, has 59 points in 191 regular-season games. He has seven points, including four goals, in eight games this season.
The Brandon Wheat Kings got down to three by sending D Matt McCue to the Medicine Hat Tigers for a 2009 sixth-round draft pick. McCue, who also has played with the Spokane Chiefs and Chilliwack Bruins, is a 6-foot-5 bruiser who has 35 penalty minutes and two points in nine games this season.
Released 20-year-olds are first available via draft and, this time around, only one player was claimed. F Blair Macaulay, released by the Tri-City Americans, was claimed by the Portland Winter Hawks. He has one assist in five games, after a 27-point 2007-08 season.
The Calgary Hitmen got down to three by releasing G Dan Spence. Spence was in his fifth season with the Hitmen and holds franchise records for victories, games played, minutes played and saves.
All 20-year-olds not claimed via draft, like Spence, now are free agents.
