The Prince George Cougars have picked up G Joe Caligiuri, 19, from the Brandon Wheat Kings, but not in an exchange involving RW Dale Hunt, 18. Rather, the Wheat Kings have received a seventh-round pick in the 2009 bantam draft. In 75 games with Brandon, Caligiuri is 42-24-4 with a 2.75 GAA and a .886 save percentage. The Cougars are about to embark on the last seven games of what is a nine-game road trip and Caligiuri is expected to join them Wednesday in Calgary.

Earlier in the day, the Wheat Kings acquired D Mark Schneider, 18, from the Kamloops Blazers for a seventh-round pick in 2009 or 2010 (the option belongs to Brandon).
