With Prince George having re-assigned G Ian Curtis, 18, to an undisclosed BCHL team, don’t be surprised if the Cougars and Brandon Wheat Kings do a little business. The Wheat Kings, having sent G Joe Caligiuri, 19, home to Winnipeg to await a move, could send the veteran netminder to Prince George for RW Dale Hunt, 18. The third overall pick in the 2005 bantam draft, Hunt and the Cougars parted company on Sunday. Hunt is from Sanford, Man., which is a couple of hours east of Brandon and has friends on the Wheat Kings’ roster. . . . Curtis, who was acquired last season from the Swift Current Broncos, has a 5.38 GAA and a .854 save percentage this season. He has yet to register a decision.
Of course, the general managers are in Calgary for meetings, so you can bet that there is a lot of trade talk taking place.
