Pellerin back in the game

Brian Pellerin, a former WHL player who was an assistant coach with the Portland Winter Hawks until that franchise underwent a change in ownership earlier this season, has a new coaching gig. Pellerin, 38, is the new head coach of the Central league’s Amarillo Gorillas, a team for which he once played and also served as an assistant coach. Pellerin replaces Tom Coolen, who resigned Sunday for, according to the team, family reasons. Amarillo, at 10-23-0, has the league's worst record and had lost four straight when Pellerin took over. Pellerin signed a contract through 2009-10 with the Gorillas.
