The Regina Pats have fired head coach Dale Derkatch after just one season on the job.
Derkatch, who went 27-39-1-5, has two seasons left on his contract.
Pats GM Brent Parker also announced that assistant coach Terry Perkins won't be back.
"This was not an easy decision and a great deal of thought has gone into arriving at this point," Parker said in a press release. "We are all disappointed in the performance of our team this past year, especially considering we feel we had above average talent on our roster. It is a tough league for an inexperienced coach and there is no question that played into our lack of success."
This puts the Pats on a list with the Chilliwack Bruins and Everett Silvertips as teams without head coaches.
The Lethbridge Hurricanes' board of directors is contemplating the future of head coach Michael Dyck.
The Prince George Cougars signed veteran head coach Dean Clark to a five-year contract last week.
