While putting together Monday’s Daily News sports pages, I noted three postponments in the AJHL, each of them caused by what The Canadian Press reported as “scheduling.” . . . Thankfully, someone posted a note to this blog explaining it:
“Three AJHL games, originally scheduled for Sunday, November 1st have been postponed, and will be rescheduled at a later date. All games have been canceled due to a scheduling error.
“No officials were assigned to any of the three games.”
Mystery solved. . . .

His debut, against the visiting Idaho Steelheads, lasted nine minutes 50 seconds. He was tossed with an interference major and later drew a two-game suspension. So he sat out the final two games of the three-game set.

A CLOSING NOTE:
The Los Angeles Kings lost two recent shootouts, both by 2-1 scores, to the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks.
Here’s Kings head coach Terry Murray: “I hate shootouts. It’s a useless part of the game. I hate it but the fans love it. It’s good for the game but boy I hate it.”
Amen!
