D Dylan McIlrath of the Moose Jaw Warriors flew to New York this week and the Rangers’ medical staff was able to get an MRI done on his injured right knee. Jess Rubenstein at The Prospect Park reports that McIlrath, taken 10th overall by the Rangers in the NHL’s 2010 draft, has an MCL sprain. That is about the best possible news McIlrath could have wished for because it means he won’t need surgery. It is expected that he will be out for up to four weeks. Throw in the WHL’s Christmas break and it could be late in December before he returns.
