It's Royals, in OT

Greg Harder of the Regina Leader-Post reports that three injured Pats — D Kyle Burroughs (concussion), F Morgan Klimchuk (hip) and F Geordie Maguire (shoulder) — won’t play in any of the club’s four pre-Christmas games. . . . Regina F Max Kammerer (concussion) has been cleared to play, just in time to head for the German national junior team’s selection camp for the World Junior Championship.
In Swift Current, the Victoria Royals blew a 3-0 lead and then beat the Broncos in OT when F Axel Blomqvist scored at 3:31 of the extra period. . . . The Royals took a 3-0 lead in before the game was four minutes old, on goals by F Ben Walker (1:50), F Tyler Soy (2:46) and F Steven Hodges (3:35). . . . D Julius Honka got the Broncos on the board on the PP at 10:40 of the first. . . . F Glenn Gawdin cut the deficit to one at 5:18 of the third and F Jay Merkley tyied it at 14:31. . . . Blomqvist, who has 10 goals, also had two assists and was plus-4. . . . Honka also had an assist. The Finnish freshman has 36 points, 12 of them goals, in 34 games. . . . The Royals were without F Brandon Magee, who drew a two-game suspension for a spearing match he took in Vancouver on Tuesday. . . . Vancouver D Mason Geertsen drew a three-game suspension for a headshot to Victoria F Austin Carroll in that one. Carroll didn’t play last night. . . . The Royals also were without D Jordan Fransoo, D Joe Hicketts, F Logan Nelson and F Jack Walker, all veterans who are injured. . . . Victoria had F Matt Dykstra, a fourth-round pick in the 2012 bantam draft, in its lineup.

From Patrick Burke (@BurkieYCP): “@mollyburke No I’m buying him a brush for Christmas don’t you ruin this.”
