The Prince George Cougars have released F Chad Hohmann, 18, who is from Salmon Arm, B.C. He had one assist in four games this season and has seven points in 49 career regular-season games. The Cougars acquired him last season from the Seattle Thunderbirds. . . .

Today’s report from Europe has F Chad Bassen (Regina/Vancouver/Medicine Hat/Everett) signing with EHC Straubing in Germany’s DEL. Bassen, who holds dual Canadian and German citizenship, was with Frankfurt the past three seasons. . . . Ahh, the memories. Yes, Hank Bassen was one of my favourites when I was a kid.
