Eastern Conference stars . . .

The WHL announced its Eastern Conference all-star teams and most of its awards finalists on Wednesday. The Western Conference all-stars and finalist will be revealed on Thursday. The player of the year finalists will be unveiled on April 14. All the winners will be announced April 28 at the WHL awards luncheon in Edmonton. Here are the Eastern Conference selections (x – denotes unanimous selection):
FIRST ALL-STAR TEAM
Goal – Martin Jones, Calgary Hitmen.
Defence – Michael Stone, Calgary Hitmen; Brayden McNabb, Kootenay Ice.
Forwards – x-Jordan Eberle, Regina Pats; Brayden Schenn, Brandon Wheat Kings; Brandon Kozun, Calgary Hitmen.
SECOND ALL-STAR TEAM
Goal – Darcy Kuemper, Red Deer Rebels.
Defence – Travis Hamonic, Brandon Wheat Kings; Colby Robak, Brandon Wheat Kings.
Forwards – Dustin Sylvester, Kootenay Ice; Matt Calvert, Brandon Wheat Kings; Cody Eakin, Swift Current Broncos.
