THE MacBETH REPORT: F Mike Wirll (Brandon, Prince Albert, Prince George, Lethbridge, 1997-2003) signed a contract for the rest of this season with Gislaved (Sweden Division 1). He had 24 goals and 38 assists in 57 games with Mississippi (ECHL) and Bakersfield (ECHL) last season.

The Tri-City Americans have reacquired D Eric Mestery, 19, from the Lethbridge Hurricanes for a 2010 second-round bantam draft pick. Mestery had seven points and 21 penalty minutes in 21 games with Lethbridge this season. He went to the Hurricanes last season, along with F Drew Hoff, 20, for F Mitch Fadden, 20, D Brock Sutherland and D Cam Stevens. The Americans selected Mestery with the seventh pick of the 2005 bantam draft. . . . Tri-City, which is at home to the Everett Silvertips on Friday, now is carrying 25 players, including 15 forwards and eight defencemen.

Steve Ewen of the Vancouver Province is reporting that the Vancouver Giants have sent G Brendan Jensen, 16, to the NAHL’s Wenatchee Wild, while bringing in G Mark Segal, 18, from the BCHL’s Nanaimo Clippers. Details are on Ewen’s blog, The Dub Hub, over there on the left.
